Moundsville State Penitentary

Located in Moundsville, West Virginia, the West Virginia Penitentiary housed the most notorious inmates from across the country from its opening in 1876 until its closure in 1995. Now, the Penitentiary serves as a tourist attraction, welcoming visitors for historical, paranormal, and photography tours, escape rooms, and a Halloween haunted house.
