Our Statement of Purpose
The Mountaineer Country Tourism Ambassador program exists to connect the dots between Mountaineer Country locals and visiting groups. Through the program, local volunteers provide our “secret sauce” of Mountaineer Hospitality – providing positive experiences for visiting teams, organizations, sports fans, and more of all ages and backgrounds.
THE PROGRAM TODAY…
Fast forward to 2022, and Mountaineer Country’s demand for event volunteers grew exponentially. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, events were back and bigger than ever.
The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park hosted several National competition-level events, including USA Diving’s Winter National Championships. Mylan Park continues to host high-traffic events, and the region continues to create more experiences for our visitors.
The Visit Mountaineer Country Convention and Visitors Bureau saw this need from our tourism partners, so we combined with the Goodwill City Ambassadors to create the Mountaineer Country Tourism Ambassadors – a program that will continue to grow alongside our destination to provide only the most positive, memorable experiences for our guests.
We’d love for you to take the pledge and join us as boots-on-the-ground tourism ambassadors and top-tier hospitality gurus.

We team up with various tourism-driving organizations and initiatives to offer volunteer support. As the destination marketing organization for North-Central WV, we prioritize events that bring visitors to our area and stimulate overnight hotel/motel stays. Some of our key tourism partners include:
