Visit Mountaineer Country Convention and Visitors Bureau is the official resource for tourism information, services, and assistance for visitors, locals, and tourism partners in North Central West Virginia.
By promoting Mountaineer Country, WV’s recreation, arts, history, and culture, Visit Mountaineer Country CVB helps generate millions of dollars annually for the local economy. This revenue helps enrich our community, support our local businesses, and improve the quality of life for residents of Mountaineer Country.
2024
- Spearheaded collaboration with regional partners to host an annual Mountaineer Country Tourism Summit to identify opportunities in marketing, logistics, resources, and performance.
- Led collaboration between regional tourism organizations and the West Virginia Department of Tourism (WVDT) to raise awareness of the area in surrounding core markets.
- Partnered with West Virginia University’s Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative (WVU OEDC) to map 25+ gravel routes for 1,000+ miles across Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor counties.
- Committed to preserving the natural beauty of our region for future generations, a commitment that earned us a National Gold Standard Youth designation. We put this dedication into action through the Leave No Trace initiative—a set of seven guidelines promoting responsible outdoor ethics.
- Recruited, trained, and managed the Mountaineer Country Tourism Ambassadors Program, a volunteer force of local citizens to provide positive experiences for Mountaineer Country event attendees.
- Engaged with local community businesses and leaders to generate awareness through social media.
