Discover the fascinating world of bats during this family-friendly evening program at the West Virginia Botanic Garden. Hosted in partnership with Friends of Deckers Creek, the event explores the important role bats play in the ecosystem, dispels common myths, and highlights ongoing conservation efforts. Participants will take a guided nighttime hike using bat detectors and smartphone technology to identify species flying overhead while learning about these remarkable nocturnal neighbors.
Open to all ages. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots, as the hike will take place after dark with minimal lighting. Bring a flashlight or headlamp, preferably with a red lens.
