The Art of the White Line: Printmaking

Join staff from the Art Museum of West Virginia University for a hands-on art workshop inspired by Blanche Lazzell. Learn about her signature white-line printmaking technique, featured in both the Botanic Garden’s Mountain Modern: The Art of Blanche Lazzell installation and the Art Museum’s Blanche Lazzell: Becoming an American Modernist exhibition, opening August 21, 2026. Using linoleum and foam instead of wood, participants will create their own prints while exploring this beginner-friendly approach to Lazzell’s innovative style.
