You drive this road all the time! But do you actually know it?
U.S. Route 50 has been shaping Clarksburg long before it was a highway. Before the pavement, before the traffic, this was the path that helped decide how our city grew and why it’s here at all. On May 9, Clarksburg History Museum is taking you out on it.
The tour starts at the museum and moves through several stops tied to Route 50’s past in Clarksburg and Bridgeport. Along the way, you’ll get into the stories most people miss including the decisions and politics that almost sent the road somewhere else entirely.
Tickets are limited. They will open a second tour date if this date sells out.
The historic Route 50 Tour is part of Clarksburg History Museum’s America 250 programming.
