Hosted by the Morgantown Sister Cities Commission, Fiesta at the Farmers Market Pavilion is part of the month-long Raíces & Vecinos (“Roots & Neighbors”), a communications and community outreach campaign celebrating Hispanic and Latino Heritage. They will be highlighting the people, places, and cultural contributions of Morgantown’s Hispanic and Latino community from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15. The campaign draws inspiration from Morgantown’s sister city relationship with Guanajuato, Mexico, a historic city recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for its cultural significance and as the birthplace of renowned muralist Diego Rivera.
