Big Bear Lake Trail Center

Ready for a serious adrenaline rush? Big Bear Lake Trail Center is a privately owned system of rugged trails, known as the “crown jewel” of mountain biking in Mountaineer Country. Tackle gnarly terrain, steep climbs, and thrilling descents that make this one of the top spots for avid riders. Be sure to mark your calendars for the Center’s annual Bike Bash in July!

  • Race Loop (13.1 miles): Test your endurance on this rocky, slalom-packed singletrack.
  • Swamp Trail (1.7 miles): Ride boardwalks through muddy meadows.
  • Crack Trail (Difficult): Squeeze between tight boulders on this rocky, technical path.
  • Gene’s Trail (1.5 miles): Get ready for rock drops, turns, and root-covered terrain.
  • Mother of Crack (1.3 miles): Ride through stunning rock formations and sloping hills.
  • Voodoo Rocks (1.2 miles): Seamlessly flows from Crack Trail to scenic lake views.
  • 3-Mile Loop An easy ride starting from Alaskan Boulevard—perfect for beginners.
Big Bear

Coopers Rock State Forest

With more than 50 miles of trails, Coopers Rock State Forest in Bruceton Mills, WV, is a must-ride destination for all skill levels. Whether you’re racing down steep slopes or cruising between campgrounds, the stunning views of Cheat River Canyon are the perfect backdrop to your ride.

 

Noteable Trails:

  • Ravens Rock Trail (1.5 miles): Rough terrain leads to breathtaking canyon views.
  • Clay Run Trail (1.8 miles): Steep and forested—great for intermediate riders.
  • Mont Chateau Trail (2.6 miles): A thrilling descent to Cheat Lake.
  • Rattlesnake Trail (0.7 miles): Short but sweet, with canyon overlooks.

Valley Falls State Park

Known for its beautiful waterfalls, Valley Falls State Park in Marion County, WV, also offers 25 miles of biking trails. Choose your path from easy rides to challenging, obstacle-filled routes.
